CIRCE is an open-air theatre performance that tells the story of the first sorceress of the Western world: the Greek nymph, daughter of Helios, exiled for eternity by her father to the coasts of Lazio.
MÈLISSE is a circular-stage performance. Everything takes place inside a wooden tribune where the audience is seated. Three women tell their stories as if part of a secret sabbath.
BLACK MOUNTAINS is a performance that explores the history of land, environment, and private property in the province of Crotone, weaving together myth, revolutions, and industrial pollution.
OUROBOROS is a traveling performance in the form of a parade. It tells the story of the birth of the universe and places climate change at its core, through the creation and destruction of the Earth.
Why this kind of theatre?
Our performances have a strong physical component. They are based on the use of the body and voice as the actor’s main instruments. From this inclination and research comes the need for an open-air theatre — in public spaces, on the streets. From our early years focused on prose theatre with social and contemporary themes, we moved towards building a technique capable of igniting the actor, making them extraordinary and trained like an athlete-artist. Our current stage research is rooted in ancient theatrical traditions and cultures (such as Greek theatre or Commedia dell’Arte) and incorporates visually striking elements like stilts, fire, masks, puppets, stage makeup, and more. These tools help us tell archetypal and mythological storiesin relation to the present — addressing contemporary social and cultural issues.
